4 Steps to Getting Amazing Blog Post Ideas Fast
This blog post reveals how to easily get amazing blog post ideas and write a blog people love to read.
You'd like to write a blog post ... but there's one problem. You don't know where to start.
You stare blankly at a screen and feel you don't have time to do this.
And the last time you tried to write something on Medium, LinkedIn or on your blog... it took a couple days to write something.
When you published it, not many people read it and you didn't get any comments. You're wondering if you're putting in a lot of hard work for something that isn't helping you become influencial.
Good news is, you've come to the right place. In today's blog post, I'm going to share how you can come up with an amazing blog post idea and get inspired to create blog posts people love reading and will increase your influence.
Let's start by addressing a mistake you want to avoid.
A mistake a lot of people make is write about what they feel like writing about. Rather than writing about what people want to know.
For example, imagine talking to a friend. You want to discuss a few things with her, but she's not interested in talking about what you want to talk about. Instead of answering your questions and hearing your thoughts, she changes the subject and talks about her. Is this a friend you'd like to talk to?
Writing a blog is somewhat similar. What's interesting to you isn't necessarily interesting to everyone else.
That's why the most influencial professionals, writers, journalists and bloggers have learned to do one thing really well. They create content that they know people want to read. They know what headline will sell newspapers, what talk title will sell out seats and blog post will keep coming back for more.
In today's blog post, I'm going to share the 4 steps you can take to get amazing blog post ideas that people love.
STEP 1 - Know your audience
The only way you can create a blog post people love, is to know what "people" you're writing to.
Not everyone has the same interests, needs, problems or goals. Therefore, you have to get really specific on who you are writing to.
The more you know about who you're writing to, the easier it is to imagine what their goals, challenges, hopes, dreams and fears are.
STEP 2 - Create a list of your audience's FAQs
Now that you're aware of who you're writing to, create a list of their most frequently asked questions.
You can do this by asking yourself, "What are their hopes, dreams, goals and fears?" and "What's slowing them down or stopping them from reaching their goals. What do they wish they knew how to do?"
Answering these questions, helps you discover their FAQs. These questions reflect the most burning problems, challenges and questions the people you're writing to have.
The best part is, FAQs often end up being the most googled questions. When a question is heavily googled, that's a sign you're thinking about a hot topic.
STEP 3 - Use Google Adwords Keyword Planner to discover the words that'll attract readers to your blog
Now it's time to really pin point the exact words people are thinking when they want to find answers to the questions they're looking for.
One thing I've learned is, the things you might enter into Google may not be the words your readers enter into Google.
That's why Google Adwords Keyword Planner is so helpful. Though it's designed for advertisers looking for keywords to use in their advertising campaigns, it's a free tool that bloggers love using to discover the best words to use for their blog.
To learn about how to use Google Adwords Keyworld Planner, I invite you to watch Allison Lindstrom's video. Click here to watch it. Don't worry if you've never even heard of this tool. It's super duper easy to use and it's free.

STEP 4 - Create a catchy headline
Last but not least, you need to create your blog post title. Always create the headline BEFORE you start writing your blog post.
This is for two reasons.
Firstly, no one will read your blog post if your headline isn't catchy. If you want people to read what you've written, use the keywords you discovered in step 3 to create and include in your catchy headline.
Now I admit, there's an art to writing catchy headlines. If you'd like to quickly learn how to write awesome headlines, I invite you to download CopyBlogger's Magnetic Headlines guide. It's completely free and gives you a step by step guide of how to make an interesting and click worthy headline.
Secondly, as soon as you know what your headline is, it makes it super easy to know what your blog post needs to include.
And that's it.
