Shaping the
future of
maternity care

For me, maternity care isn’t just about doctors and midwives. It’s about receiving the support you need to feel emotionally and physically well as a mother.

I love supporting mothers to feel good physically and emotionally, stay connected to the people they love, and feel alive enough to fulfil their purpose in life.

My journey into this work began after surviving pancreatic cancer and experiencing maternity care that left me with hours to live. I’ve also experienced the privilege of finding exceptional doctors who not only treated me but also saved my life.

Quality care gives you the chance to live, heal, recover, and move forward, even through the hardest moments. It shouldn’t depend on luck, your postcode, or what you can afford.

I believe it’s possible to create a world where every mother can access high-quality healthcare at every stage of her journey.

When I’m not working to make this vision a reality, I share ideas that help mothers live well. This website shares some of my thoughts, in the hope that they help mothers navigate maternity, health care, and motherhood more easily.

“Quality care isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity, and I’m committed to making it accessible to everyone."

My background

I’m the Founder and CEO of MatriWell. A  health tech company shaping the future of maternity care in the NHS and globally.

My vision is to create a world where quality care is accessible to every mother. I collaborate with individuals and organisations committed to making this a reality.

Outside of tech, my work has included

  1. Volunteering for charities and partnering with mission-led organisations supporting families nationally
  2. Collaborating with NHS organisations to drive forward maternity safety initiatives
  3. Guest lecturing at leading business schools on developing digital businesses that make a societal impact
  4. Supporting policymakers to develop evidence-based national recommendations for reducing disparities
  5. Contributing to national policy discussions on tackling inequalities and improving Black maternal health outcomes, including participating in multiple parliamentary discussions

What many people don’t know about me is that almost a decade ago, I trained and worked as a health coach, supporting women to feel stronger, more energised, and at home in their bodies. I’m also a qualified matrescence practitioner, with specialist training in how to support women through the emotional, physical, and identity shifts that come with becoming a mother.

When I’m not working, I’m raising my three daughters in the Cotswolds. Lately, I spend a lot of my time playing chauffeur, driving them to drama classes and gymnastics competitions across the country. The irony isn’t lost on me: I’m now doing exactly what my parents did when I played for Chelsea Girls FC.
