Why you should start putting yourself first

Do you take care of yourself with the same attention, urgency, and commitment you give to the people you love?

As a mother, you already know how instinctively you respond to your child’s needs. You notice hunger, tiredness, discomfort, the need for closeness—and you act. You do it because you love them, and because you know that when needs are met, people thrive.

But what happens when your needs show up?

When you’re hungry.

When you’re exhausted.

When you’re unhappy?

When you crave rest, quiet, nourishment, or something that makes you feel alive.

So often, those needs get pushed aside.

You tell yourself you’ll deal with them later. After the kids. After work. After everyone else. And later quietly turns into weeks or months.

This video invites you to pause and ask why…?

Why do your your needs feel optional?

Why does everyone else seem to matter more?

Why does caring for yourself feel uncomfortable or even selfish?

When I explore this question, it offers a simple truth: just like children, adults don’t flourish when their needs are ignored.

Our health, our career, our relationships and our self-esteem do not flourish when we neglect what we most need.

Nothing grows without care. Nothing blossoms without being tended to.

If you’ve been giving endlessly while running on empty, this video will hopefully inspire you to start topping up. Not with pressure or guilt, but with guilt-free realisation that you matter too.
